The Italian Africa Center for Climate and Sustainable Development is launched

A center for the analysis and development of solutions for climate change in Africa has just been launched by the Italian government. The center is supported by a joint partnership between the Italian governemnt, FAO and UNEP. The center is based in Rome at the FAO headquarters and it focuses on steering research and support development projects to mitigate the effects of climate change and adjust public policies accordingly.

The concept for this center dates back to the 2017 Bologna G7 Environment summit, prompted by the then Minsiter for the Environment Galletti.

ACSD (Africa Centre for Climate and Sustainable Development) is a key element of the national strategy supporting African countries in their fight against climate change, such as the Sahel countries.
